Simply put, I was a skeptic", remembers Dr. Kevin Lee. "But my dad insisted that I try chiropractic since I was experiencing numbness in my right hand after a college hockey injury. I was reluctant, but made the appointment to see Dr. Burns, the local chiropractor.
"It was amazing," continue Dr. Lee. "I'll never forget that first adjustment. It was as if a tremendous weight had been lifted from my shoulders. That's when I decided to be a chiropractor.
Dr. Lee attended the prestigious Colorado College on a NCAA Division I hockey scholarship. While doing his undergraduate studies, he became fascinated with the field of health and wellness. He then graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, The Fountainhead of Chiropractic. At Palmer, he was an academic and athletic All-American. Dr. Lee was one of two in his class to be nominated for the John Connelly Memorial Outstanding Graduate Award. He continues to strive for professional excellence by attending many post-graduate courses.
He served on the sports medicine team for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League as their Chiropractic Physician from 1996-1998 and 2000-2011. Dr. Lee has served on the sports medicine team with the Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm, the University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College. The office recently received the Pinellas Park Chamber of Commerce Business of Distinction Award.
Dr. Lee is well known for his caring demeanor and his dedication to the well-being of his patients. "We love skeptics," smiles Dr. Lee. "I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that. In a sense, we try to take the patients point of view."
